Dr. Sharon Davis – The Cat Doctor

A lifelong caretaker and advocate for animals, Dr. Davis has been a veterinarian since earning her DVM from Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.  After graduating, she put down her veterinary roots right here in southeastern New Hampshire.  Dr. Davis honed her craft as an associate and relief vet over sixteen years at several distinguished practices, focusing on general medicine, wellness, surgery, and emergency care.  She joined The Cat Doctor of Dover in 2007, and became the practice owner in 2018.

Dr. Davis is a general medicine and surgical practitioner, is federally accredited to write international health certificates, and is DEA licensed.  She has a special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, and behavioral medicine.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the NH Veterinary Medical Association.  A transplant from Lynn, Massachusetts, Dr. Davis attended the University of New Hampshire, earning a Bachelor of Science degree there.  She and her family (husband, kids, cats) live right here in Dover.

Dr. Joann Young – The Cat Doctor Emeritus

Although she is a native New Englander, Dr. Young entered the world of veterinary medicine out west.  She earned her DVM from Washington State University  in 1994, and began her career in Washington as an associate vet in small animal practices and as a clinic manager.  In 2001 she headed back east to fulfill her dream of building and operating a hospital exclusively for cats.  This, of course, is The Cat Doctor of Dover.  She owned and managed the practice until 2018, before selling the practice to her long-time colleague, Dr. Davis, but has continued here with us in service and example.

Dr. Young is a practitioner of medicine and surgery.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, The NH Veterinary Medical Association, the Association of Feline Practitioners, among other memberships.  For a time before her veterinary career, Dr. Young worked in human medicine, graduating from Boston University with a degree in nursing in 1985.  She and her several pets live in Seacoast New Hampshire.
